Before we get to this week’s Sunday Prototype, lest we forget the men and women who gave their lives in the Canadian Armed Forces. On this Remembrance Day, wear your poppy proud and in the imortal words of Major John McCrae:

This week’s Sunday Prototype is firearm related. We are proud to present the Skinth Down Range (DR), a Skinth designed around one of the most robust and strong AR15 maintenance field tools currently manufactured  the Mutitasker Series 2X.

The back of this Skinth Down Range is outfitted with optional MOLLE attachment. On the front is a single 1.5″ wide knife strap (will be optional)

We’ve successfully developed our own MOLLE attachment construction method allowing for a proper tight 1.5″ belt to threaded behind it. Any larger belts can be accomdated by threading the webbing through the horizontal webbing.

Inside the Skinth DR is a 2″ x 1.5″ x 4.5″ cavity. The Multitasker 2x is a little wider than most tools.

Riding shotgun in the 2.25″ wide pocket , the Multitasker’s supplied 1/4″ bit kit.

A back 2.25″ wide, 3.5″ deep flat pocket is perfect for Leatherman Bit cards, pry bars, business cards (not credit cards), cash or any other flat items.

Since the cavity is open, most other tools can be held inside the Skinth Down Range. A full sized Leatherman Surge fits with extra space on the sides for more tools.

Need to carry two? No problem. A Leatherman Crunch and  Charge TTi stand side by side.

Since the Skinth DR is shorter than most Skinths, we decided to expand the front area’s utility by adding dual .5″ pen loops

The boxed out, TrailBlazer style side pockets are sized for 91mm Victorinox 4-5 layer Swiss Army Knives. At 1″ in diameter and 3.25″ deep, it’s perfect for shorter CR123 flashlights.
