Sunday Prototype – 25/11/12 – The Gentleman’s L-Shield
Once and a while we like to take one of our Skinths, dress it up and take it out on the town.
This week’s Sunday Prototype is just that. Ready for adventure, a good shot of scotch and just plain doin’ stuff, the Gentleman’s Skinth L-Shield is just about the classiest thing a multitool can ride in.
Starting with a fresh laser cut sheet of Navy 1000D Cordura, adding a pinch of leather, a dash of brass and lined with Coyote Brown nylon thread, this L-Shield is ready for a night out.
By adding elastic on the sides, it expands the carrying capacity by a large margin. Shown here is a super rare Coyote Brown Kershaw Skyline with Sandvik Steel and CB G10 Scales.
While we like to carry lights, we often find anything larger than an AAA light is too much, so we tossed our customized Cerakoted Ultrafire A2R5 stainless steel flashlight.
Unused, the elastic serves as a nice resting place for the leather tab, which helps prevent the premature abrasion of inserting items.
Stay tuned for more mods of Shield series as we develop more and more ways to speed up production and shift this one piece design to our other popular Skinth models.
